Emotions are still high in Hwinya Village, under Chief Nhema’s area where a Shurugwi man committed suicide after seeing his wife and employee having quality time in a bush.

Gift Kazembe is alleged to have failed to come to terms after finding his wife (Shelter Maura)  groaning and moaning with another man, who happened to be  their former herd boy.

Kazembe later on died after drinking a deadly pesticide.

A villager who chronicled the events said “The alleged relationship between the wife and the unidentified employee, which is still the talk of the village, is said to have started sometime in 2015 when the two would accompany each other to a local church.

“Gift started suspecting the two and questioned his wife who professed ignorance, however all hell broke loose when he was given a tip off by his friends that Shelter was in love with their employee.

“Upon receiving the tip off he chased away the herd boy in a bid to protect his marriage following suspicion. However, this did not deter the lovebirds who continued seeing each other secretly.”

She added that on the fateful day the wife who is asthmatic purportedly left home for a local clinic to collect some tablets.

Fired up husband then secretly followed his wife and caught her pants down doing the unthinkable act with the herd boy in a bush.

Infuriated by this, Gift went home where he drank a cotton pesticide leading to his death.

Chief Nhema confirmed the tragic incident and encouraged local people to find other amicable ways of resolving issues rather than taking their own lives.
