In a rare circumstance a body of a male adult has been lying idle for the past six months at Kwekwe General Hospital Mortuary after relatives or friends failed to show up.

Midlands Police said they are appealing for information leading to the identification of the body, which has been at the mortuary since 19 December 2016.

Acting Provincial Community Relations and Liaison Officer Assistant Inspector Ethel Mukwende has urged members of the public missing a relative to approach police for possible identification.

“The body of a male adult was found lying under a tree at Joel business centre in Zhombe. The man believed to be about 42 years old had on him particulars belonging to Jacob Tapondwa,” she said adding that the body was discovered by a passer-by.

Assistant Inspector Mukwende said the man was wearing a black pair of trousers and a white T-shirt.

“The man has a slim frame, dark in complexion and of medium height.

“We are appealing for anyone who might be missing their relative to call the officer in charge of Zhombe Police Station Inspector Manuwere on 0713 966 055 or the nearest police station,” she said.
