According to Mutare-based radio station Diamond FM, a bus belonging to Inter Africa was involved in an accident at Regina Coeli escarpment while transporting students for school opening.

Only a few students were reported to be injured, as confirmed by Manicaland police spokesperson Inspector Norbet Muzondo.

This incident follows a similar one on Sunday where a hired Inter Africa bus transporting Pakame High School learners was involved in an accident on the Harare-Bulawayo Highway.

All pupils escaped unharmed, but some lost property in the fire that followed the accident.

ZRP spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident and attributed it to a pirate taxi driver encroaching onto the bus driver’s lane at the 181km peg along the Harare-Bulawayo Highway.
